The Story: This Hidromek digger was required for ESB pole installation on soft, boggy ground, but the standard factory wheels were sinking in the wet conditions. To solve this, we engineered a bespoke flotation setup. Because the clearances were tight, we first manufactured sample wheels to test the fit and ensure no rubbing occurred. Once validated, we completed the final welding and finished the rims in black colour. We then fitted massive flotation tyres—BKT TR 678 650/40R22.5 on the front and BKT Agrimax Force IF 710/55R28 on the rear—providing the necessary surface area to float over the mud without losing traction.
